David

David has over 40 years experience in commercial property originally training with insolvency experts, Edward Symmons & Partners in London. He worked with Hardie & Gorman (part of the Knight Frank Group) in Sydney, Australia dealing with office agency, and then at Jones Lang Wootton (now Jones Lang LaSalle) in Los Angeles, USA concentrating on investment agency and analysis. He returned to the West End of London office of Hillier Parker (now CBRE) where he was a senior investment surveyor before joining Lawson-Price in 1982 to run their Kent Commercial office.

David set up Core Commercial in 1996. He has advised multi national companies through to small companies and individuals. He has written investment analysis and development appraisal programs. He was a Councillor for Tunbridge Wells Borough Council for 8 years until May 2010, sitting on the Eastern Area Planning Committee and is currently a Trustee of the Tunbridge Wells and District Citizens Advice.

David travelled widely in his youth from hitch hiking through North and South America, travelling across North Africa and up the Nile to Central and East Africa as well as overland (where possible!) to Australia. He was navigator on a 60 ft yacht sailing across the South Pacific. He travelled along the Silk Road through China  and more recently undertook a photographic tour of New Zealand.

Educated at Ardingly College in Sussex and then Thames Polytechnic in Hammersmith (now part of Greenwich University) where he obtained a degree in Estate Management and became an Associate of The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, elevating to a Fellow in 1992.

His main interests are photography, travel, construction projects, walking the dogs as well as spending time with family & friends. David is married with two children (and two dogs!).
